The purpose of Perth French Theatre is to live French cultural experiences together while building greater confidence and healthier mental well-being.
Acting training is a powerful tool to enhance our potential, develop confidence, rediscover the fantastic world of imagination and creation, and connect with a group, all differences enriching each other.
It is also an efficient way to practice language for French learners and Francophones far from home!
It's where we create together while learning many acting techniques practical in everyday life!
And finally, it is a beautiful excuse to meet and speak French.
Theatre training covers many areas:
All age and French level are welcome to try for one class and then make a decision.

Do I have to be French?
No, Perth French theatre is accessible to anyone interested in French language and culture.
Do I have to speak French fluently?
No. One of the goals of PFT is to give learners other opportunities to practice the language. The training will help you find a certain ease. But an intermediate level is recommended.
From what age can I join the group?
It all depends on the level of interest. Some children started in the adult group at 11 years old, and the experience was wonderful for everyone.
Should I have already done theatre?
No.
Can I do the training only?
Yes. Other things can be offered backstage if you don't want to go on stage.
Is a show planned for the first year?
In the first year, participants are invited to participate in the advanced group show backstage to familiarise themselves with the stage. Costumes, decor, props, sound, light, surtitle etc…
Where do the classes take place?
North Fremantle Community Centre, 2 Thompson Road, North Freo
How should I dress?
You must come dressed very comfortably. We move around a lot. And be prepared to work barefoot.
If I am absent, will I be reimbursed?
No, you commit to a full term.
