ABOUT US
My name is Stella Sulak. I am a French theatre director and mother of four. I have been involved in the arts industry for over 25 years, in France predominantly but also in the USA, Belgium, Costa Rica and since 2014 in Australia.
My idea was to share my passions: theatre and language. I was dreaming to offer a space where people could meet with their different stories and backgrounds but with the same desire: speaking French. I wanted to offer a safe place to reconnect to the amazing power of imagination. I was hoping to live with you this insane journey of creation ;-) I am passionate about creating high quality performances and bringing professionalism to the wonderful world or amateur! My dream has been heard. Every year, more and more of you are taking part in this wonderful adventure. Thank you for that. I am glad to present the team of PFT: |
Meet Ea Sulak,
My oldest daughter. She is French/Australian, and has lived in many places including France, Belgium, the USA, central America and now Australia. She has the chance to be trilingual. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance at WAAPA. In addition to her bachelor, she has had the amazing opportunity to be trained by Alexandra Damiani, ex Ballet master and artistic director of Cedar lake company in New York. Besides her own work as a performer, Ea is at the heart of Perth French Theatre since the beginning. She has had so many positions including but not limited to:
Above all she is a source of so much inspiration :-) |
Meet Helia Sulak,
My second daughter. French/Australian and also well travelled, she graduated with a Bachelor of Acting at NIDA. She spent 2 years in France where she worked in multiple independent films as an actress. However, Covid kept her too far from us so she decided to come back home. Since then, she worked as an actor coach for our last play "Le cercle des illusionnistes". She is now an educator for the French Holiday Program for teenagers. She is also currently working on a scenario for a short film. Life is much more beautiful when she's around and creation much more profound! |
Meet Selena Sulak,
my third daughter. Of course, she is also French/Australian, and has lived in many places across the world before getting to Australia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Industries at ECU. She has had various positions on 10 short films produced by Screen Academy, some of which have been nominated for multiple awards including but not limited to the Cine Fest film award. Currently she was granted the great opportunity of funding for the development of a web series. She has also been working with PFT for many years, creating catching videos for communication. She is now an educator for teenagers in the French Holiday Program. Her smile and bubbly energy give me the taste of paradise, everyday. |
Meet Victoria Levadoux
She is not my daughter ;-). And she didn't travel with us but with her beautiful family. She's also French/Australian and has a Master degree in accounting and finance! Most of you know Victoria, she is the co-organiser for the first French Festival in Perth: Bonjour Perth Festival. I had the thrilling chance to work with her during 5 crazy years of festival and she became family. She is now the amazing "admin" of PFT and my life changed! It's thanks to her that you get quicker answers to your email, it's thanks to her that you know more about what's going on, it's thanks to her that PFT is growing. It's thanks to her that my life is much MUCH easier and shiny today ;-). |
Meet Rowena Putland
Rowena is Australian and a fluent French speaker. She has a diploma in French Studies from UWA. In addition to being an actress in Lysistrata and Antigone, Rowena also took on the difficult task of translating the plays. Each year it is thanks to her that English speakers are able to enjoy the performance with English surtitles. Her intelligence, culture and precision make Rowena an essential member of PFT team. |
Meet John Yeomans
John is our poetic accountant. Yes, it's possible! He is Australian and has been studying French for the last 10 years. He has a strong interest in the French language and culture, with a passion for French poetry, film and performance in general. As well as being our accountant John has been a student of PFT since our commencement. He played in 9 of our plays! I am in huge admiration of his passion and hard work. |
Meet Stephanie Mateo
The last but not the least, just the latest addition to the team. Steph is a French visual artist, she is portraitist and muralist. She studied Fine Art and Design in the South of France. Her artist name is TANKATEO. 2 years ago she joined us as a guest for the French Holiday Program and we are so lucky that she never left. She is now an educator for the French Holiday Program. It didn't stop there for Steph, for the first time this year, she took on the role of set designer for our last play: "Le Cercle des Illusionnistes" a task she mastered with authenticity and pleasure. Steph brings creativity in each moment of life! |
