STELLA SULAK
DIRECTOR
Stella has been in the Arts industry for over 25 years, working with a variety of artists, professionals and amateurs, including actors, singers, painters, dancers, writers, film directors...
She has gained a considerable amount of experience in the Art industry in a number of countries. After an actor training at "L'atelier international de Blanche Salant", she started as an assistant director for movies and plays. Her collaboration with Carlo Varini, director of photography for "Le grand bleu" or "Les choristes" pushed her to work as a photographer for many years, travelling all over the world. However, the nascent passion of her children for theatre, awakened her. In more recent years, she focused her efforts on directing plays and creating workshops for young and aspiring actors in Paris, Los Angeles and Costa Rica. For around ten years now, she has been travelling to different parts of the world with her project slung over her shoulder: to share her language and culture in a way that is different and complementary to traditional methods of teaching. The passionate French learners she meets are along for the ride with her, creating quality theatre pieces to share their love of the language, culture and theatrical experience. Now based in Perth she started a partnership with Uwa French Club and produced two performances which were awarded by the prestigious "Matilda award for Cultural excellence in Drama 2016". |
