The Uwa French Club & Perth French Theatre presented an adaptation based on Aristophane. The performance will be in French with English Surtitles This group involved 17 people from 19 to mature age, with all levels of French - from beginners to native speakers. 15 Australian actors and 2 French.
"La guerre est une femme, une très belle et très puissante femme, et nous la vaincrons en étant plus belles et plus puissantes qu'elle... Nous écraserons la guerre sous les talons de nos jolies chaussures !" Aristophane used to write about women. In Lysistrata, the women decided to not have anymore sexual relations with theirs husbands to stop a war. With a lot of humour, Aristophane wonders about women's power and their role in the society.
